This summer I became an aunt! My sister Anna and I managed to squeeze a little photo time into Ethan's busy schedule, at about ten days old. He's such a doll and we're all so happy to have a new family member.

I had a whole other shoot planned for this portrait session, but when bad weather threatened we changed everything the day before....I couldn't be happier. Kelly and Michael showed me all around Philadelphia and we just made it up as we went along. Check out the ice cream, pizza, hanging out in the park and all the fun we had....

Valerie and Alex are probably my dearest friends and I'm so lucky to have them in my life. I met Valerie in graduate school at GW because I sat next her sister in all of my classes. And with us all being from the Midwest, we quickly became friends. That was about 8 years ago! Val and Alex have some of the very first wedding images I shot as a guest framed in their home. They were my willing subjects in this very muddy shoot we did on the Potomac River for them to have a few new portraits. Enjoy!

Kallie is an amazing and talented portrait and wedding photographer now based in Seattle, Washington. A few weeks ago, I was photographing a wedding in Palm Beach, Florida and Kallie helped shoot it with me. We took her family portraits the day before. The weekend was her family's last weekend living in Florida, her husband had just accepted a job in Seattle, giving the photographs a special context to their family. And it was little Tova's 3rd birthday! I absolutely fell in love with her! What a beautiful sunset we had to photograph some fun family portraits.
